Discover Combe Martin: A Historic Village with a Vibrant Community Life

Combe Martin, the historic and scenic village on the North Devon Coast of England, has a rich industrial heritage including mining for ores, quarrying, fishing, farming, and horticulture. Historically a thriving coastal community, we have maintained several unique Devonshire customs and traditions.

Our popular events include the famous Hunting of the Earl of Rone festival, our annual Carnival, and monthly Farmers’ Markets. The village has a vibrant #community life and various local organisations.

Combe Martin has a Facebook page and a local history forum. The monthly Shammickite magazine is available from most local outlets including Combe Martin Museum and Information Point.

Local facilities include the vintage Village Hall and the Community Shop. Our pre-17th-century Community Centre has served as the church house, the village school, and our parish council office.

Combe Martin is also a popular destination for tourists, walkers, and history hunters. The village offers beaches, a Wildlife Park, the South West Coastal Path, and several historic landmarks and monuments.
